Description
Vermiculite is a mineral with a laminated structure that is applied mixed with the substrate or on the surface to maintain temperature and humidity during germination.
Vermiculite is used in a hydroponic system and with the use of this mineral you will be able to maintain the humidity of the substrate in a more optimal way.
The amount of vermiculite that you add to the substrate should never exceed 5% of the total of the pot, since, if you exceed that amount, problems with excess moisture in the substrate may appear.
WHY SHOULD WE USE VERMICULITE?
The action of vermiculite is very similar to that of expanded clay but vermiculite retains more water, since it can retain up to 5 times its weight.
